Sorry we haven’t done a real post in a while, we’ve been really busy and having a lot of fun! Here’s what’s been going on with us the last couple of months.
Siena turned 6 months old
Barrett graduated from preschool
We captured Ausin’s love for baths
Barrett started T ball

Siena learned to sit

Austin started preschool (Barrett is going during the summer to help Austin get used to it)

Siena learned to crawl (still an army crawl)

Siena turned 7 months

And seriously, I want these outfits for me!
I went to San Francisco last week for a developer conference, leaving Carina home with the 3 kids. To be honest with you, I was a little worried that 3 kids with no break was gonna be too much, but when I came home Friday night, the kids were all in bed, the house was spotless, she’d even made me some dinner earlier and had it in the fridge for me. The next morning the kids went on and on about how much fun they’d had that week. All I can say, is my wife is awesome!
The other day, I get a panicked call from Carina while on my way home from work. “Siena just fell off the counter and hit her head, what should I do?” Apparently, Siena was bouncing so hard in her bouncy chair, that she managed to bounce it to the point where it fell off the kitchen counter. Carina was right there, but it happened so fast, she had no time to react. I asked if she was okay or if she thought we needed to take her to the hospital. Carina said that Siena was crying a little bit funny and that she was hysterical. I told her to call the pediatrician and see what he recommended. Well, of course, he told her to drive right up to the Primary Children’s Medical Center ER and have Siena checked out. So, Carina jumped in the car and left the boys with a friend and headed up to the hospital. Meanwhile, I picked up the boys and came home, coached T-Ball and put the boys in bed. We figured there wasn’t much I could do at the hospital except wait and this way at least out boys would follow their usual routine.
Basically after a good 5 hours at the hospital, CAT scans, and probably watching Carina’s interactions with the baby to make sure we’re not just abusive parents or something, Carina found out that everything seemed to be just fine with Siena. The doctor even mentioned that there was no indication at all that she’d actually even hit her head. They were discussing whether or not to do some x-rays to see if she’d broken bones when I showed up. Immediately, Siena’s face lit up and she was ready to have me hold her and make her jump. She loves to jump, jump, jump. Once the doctor saw her jumping around like crazy, she realized that there was probably not a need to do any x-rays because she was definitely not still in any pain. So in the end, we will have ended up with a nice big`ol bill from the ER and pretty soon a brand new bouncy chair that suction cups to the counter.
This post is more for my memory than anything else because I know there will be a day that I will think this is funny, and might even miss days like yesterday. So, Yesterday I decided to put away all of Siena’s 3-6 month clothes
and get out all her 6-12 month stuff
So the boys were down stairs watching a movie with friends and I would go check on them every ten minutes or so while bringing bins up and down. Well in between one of these ten minute periods one of my boys I’m still unsure as to which one thought it would be a bunch of fun to bring the running hose into the basement and get everything wet. When I got down there Barrett was holding the hose spraying everything and Austin was splashing around in the water. I freaked out and screamed. I think I scared the neighbor kids pretty good before telling them they had to go home. Sent the boys up to their rooms, mostly so I didn’t hurt them, and began the process of getting the water our of my basement. Oh the joy!!!

Marina is my new sister in law and we love her so much! We had the privilege of having her live with us for a few months before the wedding and it was so much fun getting to know her. We miss her already and it’s only been a couple of weeks.
I know I am biased because she is mine, but I really think Siena is the cutest little girl ever. We have enjoyed having her in our family so much. She is such an easy going baby and her older brothers (which I also think are the cutest ever) love on her so much, which she surprisingly seems to like. Siena loves to play with her feet, roll over (only from back to belly), talk, growl (yes I know its weird, but I actually have tape of me doing it as well), and she loves to smile!

We have professional pictures coming, these are just a few we snapped while the real photographer was doing her thing…

Austin insisted on sitting with Marina for this picture. This looks funny though because it looks like Jacob and Marina have 2 kids already.

Our family, I can’t believe there are 5 of us now!

Austin STILL thinks he was the one that got married to Marina.
These guys are gonna miss Marina sooo much. Its been fun having her stay with us.

This is me and my brothers and sister.
Sorry it’s been so long since we’ve posted, we’ve been busy with sick kids and weddings and things. I don’t have the pics from the wedding ready yet, but here are a few pictures from March!
Siena 4 months old
Trying rice cereal for the first time.

there were a couple of days of nice weather so we broke out the bikes
Austin loves to dress up, here he is as spiderman!
What a little Lady’s man, should I be worried? Spiderman has found his true love, Snow White (Halle)
Let me explain. Last Sunday morning while getting three kids and myself ready for nine o’clock church while Stephan was at early morning mettings, my sweet, innocent 3-year-old decided to color all over my couches with bright purple marker. We tried a few things to get the marker off. Anything using water seemed to just smear it, so I don’t know why, but I tried Windex, random I know. I’m not saying it was easy, but with a few squirts of windex and a lot of scrubbing and wiping there is now no trace of marker. I guess I’m lucky that first, the marker was washable (I haven’t tried the windex trick with permanent marker and don’t plan to), and second, that my couches are microfiber. So if any of you ever get anything on your microfiber couches reach for the windex, it really works! I wish I would have gotten a picture, but again I missed the kodak moment.
